Who I am.
Colleen Aziz, LCPC (Founder)
Intentional — Compassionate — Experienced
The best compliment I ever received was that I’m the “human embodiment of a cup of tea.” I bring that same warmth, compassion, and calm to every counseling relationship.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Illinois with over a decade of experience counseling adults, couples, and families.
I’m here to help you make your life and relationships into the best they can be, according to what’s important to you.
What I stand for.
I am a climate-, collapse-, and eco-justice aware therapist. I recognize the impact climate change has on our emotions and well-being, and I work directly with clients on taking values-based action and leading meaningful lives in the face of climate change.
Contact me for more information on my commitment, including reduced-fee counseling for those from under-served populations, to racial and social justice and progressive causes.
What I do.
I help empower clients to identify and process eco-emotions, as well as take meaningful steps toward climate action based on their own personal values.
I’ll also help you develop and manage healthier, more satisfying relationships with your family, friends, and colleagues.
I have special experience working with people who experience addiction (substances and behaviors), immigrants and refugees, people who consider themselves spiritual but not religious, and people who identify as 2SLGBTQ+.
I use existential, cognitive, and mindfulness-based approaches, as well as solution-focused work to help you feel better soon (see FAQ).
How it works.
I offer individual counseling (family members and important others can join sessions as needed), couples’ counseling, and family counseling for adults. I also offer mental health and substance abuse assessments.
All counseling sessions are conducted virtually through HIPAA-compliant video.
I am credentialed with all major health insurance companies (see FAQ for complete list). Self-pay and sliding-scale options are available (via the Open Path Collective).
Supervision services.
I offer clinical supervision for aspiring therapists (provisionally-licensed LPCs and graduate students) in Illinois.
All supervision sessions are conducted virtually through HIPAA-compliant video.
